Meet Our Team

I have been a vet now for 32 years. 

My career started in Dargaville as a dairy vet, but as my surgical interest grew I moved to the U.K. where I started working in mixed practice and then small animal practice.  I was there for five years and attended orthopaedic courses in England and Europe. 

Whilst living overseas I met my wife in Bristol.  On returning to N.Z I worked at Howick Veterinary Clinic and then at the Auckland SPCA as their veterinary director.  Then with our one year old son in toe, brought the Cameron Road Veterinary Clinic and shifted to Tauranga in 1995 to bring up our family.

I've always had a love for animals and grew up with many different house pets but never thought I'd end up in a job where I get to care for so many animals every day.

I originally studied travel management as I absolutely LOVE to travel and it landed me a job at Walt Disney World in Florida, USA in 2011. After my time in the States I arrived home to the disaster that was the Rena Oil Spill.  I volunteered immediately and was assigned to help nurse the penguins back to health. 

It was such a rewarding experience and made me want to pursue a career in vet nursing.  I completed my National Certificate in Veterinary Nursing at the BOP Polytech in 2013.

In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, scrapbooking, watching Disney movies and spending time with the ones I love; including my 2 cats and 2 guinea pigs.
